PA Omatapalo is a privately held Angolan corporation, born out of the partnership between OMATAPALO - Engenharia e Construção, S.A and PAINHAS, S.A in 2011 to craft engineering, construction and maintenance projects regarding energy, gas and telecommunications networks operating in Angola.

 

The Challenge

Geographically dispersed field services teams management is PA Omatapalo's operational key success factor. With business activity growth the company felt the need to control teams performance in 2 main layers:

Asset profitability

Process and arrange real-time relevant information regarding fleet (distance covered, maintenance, usage rate, personal versus professional use), sizing it according to service demands and available field services teams.

Teams management

Tasks distribution across team members according to their localisation, skills and availability.

To answer this comprehensive challenge, Quatenus Fleet Edition and Team Edition product offers were selected.

Via set-up of GSM tracker devices in vehicles, Fleet Edition enables a centralised management of vehicles, that together with skills related to Telematics and Analytics in Quatenus core platform, unveil immediate gains in profitability and productivity.

On the other hand, Team Edition set-up of GSM tracker devices in smartphones, empowers management to gather a wider knowledge of work completed by remote teams, allocating tasks to the most suited team members and monitoring progress real-time, optimising usage rate across the journey.

 

Results

PA Omatapalo and Quatenus partnership made possible a consistent improvement in both profitability and teams management, clear in several operational indicators, such as:

  • Great fleet usage rate, with a 20% overall in number of services completed per vehicle;
     
  • Fleet Operational costs 25% decrease, via the establishment of a more stable driver pattern and more favorable relationship between vehicles professional and personal use;
     
  • Increase in number of projects and activities completed, via process enhancements and best practices share;
     
  • Staff improved attendance rates, daily registered in Quatenus Team Edition. The lack of registry implies naturally a wage reduction;
